Our Angoras are well cared for and family pets as well as wool producers. All are socialized with everyone and are never harmed for their wool.

I hand spun this yarn in the woolen method using midnight blue for one ply and natural white for the other. This is a generous 150 Yards, 2 3/4 ounce of softness. 16 WPI makes this a fingering weight.
Welcome to WoodenSpinner! We are Mike and Brenda Harrower of Vicksburg, MS. Come on in and get to know us. Together we have put together a little shop that we travel to fiber festivals with handmade fibers and equipment and African Baskets from Ghana.
The spinning wheels are by Spinolution, a company from California that started putting out a line of dream wheels two years ago after over 25 years of research and trials. We carry the Mach II, a large wheel that takes you from novice to production spinning, the Bee that is the travel wheel. Also in stock are the bobbins and accessories to go with the wheels.
Mike makes the skein winders and diz’s, and also weaves the scarves. He uses solid wood, cherry, oak or walnut and no fillers or ply woods with brass for the metal needs. Each skein winder is unique and individually set for precision function. The scarves are made from my handspun wools when available, using the Baby Wolf loom. A diz is used to pull wool thru after combing or carding to make roving or sliver. These also have 3 holes and can be used as a three ply guide!
My fibers are hand processed after getting them straight from the shepherds. Washed in Dawn, rinsed in vinegar you know no toxic chemicals have been used. I then hand comb or card the fibers or blend with the ever soft and elegant angora. I raise my own bunnies as pets, harvest their wool with scissors and they are never harmed in wool production. My pictures show most of them out of coat, having just been sheared. A full coated angora is really something to behold!
Look around, have a good time. Ask questions, just write and tell us what you think!

We have added the Mach II spinning wheel to our site. It is a dream wheel! Many more features than any one wheel out there today and very reasonably priced at $650. There are a carrying system for it, and a really cool tensioned lazy kate as additional accessories. I tried mine and immediatley got a dealership!! While the site says it is by Woodenspinner, it is by Spinolution. Included are all wheels stained, three bobbins, one shipping price. Buy the tensioned Kate with it and it goes in the same box, same shipping price!!!
